From the studies I've seen, 1-1 computing will be an essential adoption to improve our educational process. Scores on achievement tests raise 2%. Engagement goes up and discipline refferal's  go down. This was for schools that did it badly. If schools take a look at the SAMR model or other research to adapt their curriculum to the devices, gains have been as great as 16%. Clearly, always on access to learning on individual devices coupled with transformed schools where the student learns they, not their teacher / coach, are responsible for learning, works well.
